TRINA SHOEMAKER: MIXER, PRODUCER, ENGINEER

Trina Shoemaker is a mixer, producer, and engineer from Illinois. She got her start in the music industry as a secretary at Capitol Records in Los Angeles. She later lived in London, working with artist Hugh Harris, and then in New Orleans, working under producer Daniel Lanois at Kingsway Studio.

Her big break came in 1995, when she was hired to produce Sheryl Crowe’s debut album Tuesday Night Music Club. A few years later, she won the Grammy for Best Engineered Album for her work on Crow’s The Globe Sessions, becoming the first woman to have ever won the award.

She went on to win two more Grammys, and has since been nominated twice more for the Best Engineer award; once in 2004, and once in 2012.

In the 20+ years of her professional career, Shoemaker has worked with renowned musicians such as the Indigo Girls, the Dixie Chicks, and Iggy Pop. You can view her complete discography here.
