THE MOST SPECIAL STUDIO CRIBS
“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”… just kidding, we’re not quite at Christmas yet. But you’re in luck because here at Gender Amplified we do have something special to share with you anyway: an all-new most special episode of “Studio Cribs” featuring our very own founder Ebonie Smith!
In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, it was only right that Ebonie took us back to her hometown of Memphis, TN, and if you listen closely, you’ll even hear bits of a southern twang in her conversation ;-). Ebonie opens the episode with a beautiful melodic tune on the piano that instantly creates warm, comfy, at home vibes.
As she takes us through the “4U Recording, Made in Memphis Entertainment” studio owned by the iconic David Porter, we’re introduced to some of the equipment Ebonie uses to create her sound, as well as the pieces she refers to as “her babies”. Naturally, after a long day of being a musical creative genius, one needs a break to shoot some hoops in the studio’s parking lot. Not to mention a bag of chips to refuel!
Who knew that a big city Tracking/Audio Engineer at Atlantic Records was also still a down-home southern sweetheart with a taste for Cheetos and a mean jump shot?!
