CTRL ROOM SERIES: FEBRUARY 2020
This past February, Gender Amplified held another installment of our Ctrl Room Series. The Ctrl Room Series is meant to be a series of workshops, designed by Ebonie Smith, wherein incredibly talented and capable producers and artists come together to network, learn, and ultimately create music.
Each installment has a featured artist to frame the workshop; in the past we are delighted have worked with Spencer Ludwig and Elle Varner. This session’s featured artist was Ro Ransom. Ro Ransom is a rapper from Manhattan, New York who rose to fame in 2015 after releasing a single title “See Me Fall”. Moving past his older work, the 26 year old rapper named Kid Cudi as one of his greatest musical inspirations and urged participants to create freely, transversing genres/sounds, in this session.
We are thankful to HYPERBALLAD MUSIC for providing an amazing recording space filled with natural light and greenery. Meeting early Saturday morning, we spent lots of time in conversation. Here artists conversed to figure out the kind of sounds they would be chasing. Then, it was time to create; watch the recap below.
